so my father in law and I just installed a Volant CAI w/ scoop on a 2013 DC4x4 and so far he likes it. Last week he added a MagnaFlow exhaust and waswondering how we would know if the truck was running at its full potential? I'msure the best thing would have been a before and after Dyna. I’ve also read th etruck could be running rich and would need a URD MAF. What do you guys suggest?

I did the same on my 06, did the exhaust then put on the exact same intake with scoop. It feels like it gave it a little more power with the exhaust combination but don't pay attention to the box that says "up to 38+ hp gains" that's a load of shit

Only way to really know if you have MAF/fuel issues with this setup is to get something that allows you to see the short-term and long-term fuel trims and the AFR. Scangauge, ultragauge, OBDII reader with phone app, etc. can be used to see this info.

The trims can still be off due to MAF errors, and still not throw a code.

Just got off the phone the URD guy and he was definitely a salesman. He saidI would benefit from the calibration piece but at the moment he doesn’t have aMAP of the 2013 Tacoma. Nobody has come into the shop back east yet, he hasn’thad a Volant induction to test. Geez, would be super to get some actual data toback up these, "after market upgrade" claims? Where do I get thisphone app. App store?
It also seems like the late model Volant system is supposedto be plug in play? Did anybody have any problems with the install for thePump, stupid thing doesn’t fit correctly, the angle isn’t correct?

I can't remember the name of the phone app. Essentially it's an OBDII plug that relays data wirelessly to a phone app. You'll need to search. Also there are some Volant 2013 install threads here somewhere, you'll need to search those out to.
