Tires rubbing on frame?

I have a 2004 2wd prerunner. I have some 265/70/16 tires that aren't even necessarily all terrains but they rub on the frame a little bit. I know there is no harm in that, but what kind of issues would i run into when upgrading 265/75/16 duratracs?
If they rub would a leveling kit help or what should i do?

 

I run 285/75/16 and rub frame, sway, and had to cut plastic over the pinch weld.
I am sure you will rub frame and probably a bit of plastic. Not 100%

 

It won't do any damage to the tires, right? And would a leveling kit be beneficial or make it look any better?

 

Are you lifted at all? should have been first question.

 

I forgot to mention being all stock..

 

Tristen, surprised the 270. 16s rub as that's a stock pre runner size. I ran that size with zero rub. So maybe your shocks need replacement? And you may find you're sidewall gets uncomfortably close yo the upper control arm with the 75 vs 70

 

I'm surprised they rub too. My 265/75 BFG all terrains rubbed the frame a hair before the bilsteins

 

I had zero rub on my 2003 pre runner that had 65,000 city/highway miles with an AT profile nokian 265 70 16 tire. I have nitto terra grappler 265 70 17s now and I think they only rub my wheel well/flap at full lock due to needing to put on spacers. They would have been in contact slightly with my Uca. And I have no lift added.

 

Well my dad bought the truck for me wrecked and it was repaired, so that could have something to do with shocks?

 

Could mean something...or nothing. What's the mileage on it?

A leveling kit won't help the frame rubbing issue. It will help if there is rubbing on the fender well or body but not frame . IMO

 

I can assure you the rubbing will get worse once you get Duratracs.
