I am looking for some insight on what I can do for my brake issues. Ever since I lifted my truck (first lift was a 2.75" lift with toytec coilovers) I have gone through brakes like there is no tomorrow. When I switched my lift to a 4" spindle lift with stock coilovers I had some really warped disc and bad pads so I changed them out. I would say since initially lifting the truck I have gone through 5 sets of brakes (pads and rotors) and now I switched to what everyone had said was a very reliable and great set up and still are having issues.

I currently run brembo blanks and hawk lts pads which are about 8 months old. I just recently have been getting a LOUD screeching sound coming from the brakes when braking to a stop. Than getting a little bit of a shutter. The shutter and shakes I use to get on all of my older brakes but what I dont understand is why my brakes are all doing the same thing and having the same problems as one another.

One thing to note also is when i wash my truck and spray them there is a large about of brake dust that washes out dont know if that means anything

    Any Ideas?

First thought that comes to mind is you drive really aggressive and always stop very quickly?

Was my first thought too but I hoped he would have figured that out on his own, haha

Not enough info given to make guesses. So start knocking the common things out.

Also do you happen to ride the brakes?

I really do not drive aggressive I even asked my fiance if she felt like I drove nuts and she agrees that its odd with my driving habits that my brakes always take a shit quick. and no I do alot of highway drive and dont really ride the brakes overly excessive.

#1 - Don't ride the brakes at all. Ever. You should only place your foot on the brake pedal when you are slowing down or stopping.

#2 - If you are not aggressive as you stated the most common problem would be that the Caliper Piston(s) is (are) sticking in the extended position causing the brakes to press on the rotors all the time. How is your gas mileage? If it really sucks it would be another indicator of sticking pistons.

I would say I am ranging between 14-16 MPG whats the best way to figure out if a piston is sticking?
