I've got this growling noise from the front of the engine. Sometimes it even kinda makes a quite pop while its growling. New water pump a few months ago. When I put my hand on the fill cap for the power steering pump it almong feels like its in time with the noise. No leaks fluid is full. Just seems like in the past when I had a bad pump on other vehicles they made more of a winning noise. Qny input would be great.

when sitting still, does it make more noise when you move the wheel back and forth?

Remove all 3 belts and start it.
If no noise, then shutdown and install innermost belt, and start it
    etc

    This should narrow it down.

This is a good divide and conquer strategy.
That is what I would do next.

    Prob the idler pulley.
