I should pick of my 2014 Tacoma 4 x 4 TRD truck in a week or so, I am going to add a Toytec 3" lift and swap out tires with LT255/80/17 tires BFG Mud terrain T/A KM2 on the stock wheels.

Anybody do similar on a 2012 or 2013? I do not want fat balloony tires that stick out past the body line. I would actually like them a a bit thinner and a taller. These tires are about ~1.5" taller and a 1" narrower then the factory 265/70/17.

    Any other tire recommendations?

    Thanks

255s are a great tire if you don't mind the skinny look.

Thanks for the quick feedback. I am actually going to go a different route and try the skinnier tire look. In another thread it was mentioned by another member they will rub the UCA. I am not sure that applies on the 2014 with 17" wheels. I really do not want to swap wheels. I am looking for a clean stock but lifted look.

One of the main reasons I went with 255s originally was so I could run factory wheels. I had no issues with UCA rubbing on 2009 with 255/85r16

You won't rub the UCA with that size and factory wheels. A local member is running 255/75R17 BFG M/T (Jeep Wrangler Rubicon take-offs) and he seems to like them. You might rub in other areas but you won't contact the UCA.

Thanks for feed back. I do not mind slight graze of say an inner fender well on tight turns forward or backward but just did not want to hit steering components.

I do not want to Mod truck to far. Just want a few enhancements for my personal likings as we all do. However we all want to avoid making it a mess and loads of work.
