It's legal in Germany to drive as fast as you want. It was not reckless. I wasn't racing anyone, just driving to work. I was not speeding excessively either, it will only do a buck twenty. I had a Mercedes station wagon that would do 160mph. It was a family car.

Black Sand Pearl factory paint - flattened "au natural" by tree branches.
I was under the impression that most passenger vehicles came from the factory with the speed limiter set to the speed rating of the factory tires that were chosen for production.

Of the 5 or 6 different factory tires that come on this truck in NA they are all S rated at 180KM/H or 112MPH, except for the T rated Rugged Trails on the TRD Offroad which are rated a bit faster, go figure. My speed limiter hits at exactly 112 MPH.

And that would make sense. An Audi R8 would have very, very special tires on it for sure.

The audi has a top speed of just below 200, it would have Z or Y rated tires on it which aren't that special. Read about the Veyron's tires if you want to see special tires. They are about $25-30k for a set of 4.

My 07 four banger cuts out when the speedometer reads 105 pmh but gps has me clocked at 98.
