To start off my name is Rick Sheckells AKA SilverBullet05.

I am 32 years old. I live in San Diego's East County. I own and operate a dog grooming business.

I have been driving for more than twelve years. I have had no formal off road training. I have lived in some places that made driving interesting. Tahoe got a lot of snow the year I lived there. In Hawaii I would always be using the cane roads to get to local spots. Then I went on a tacoma world run at anza barrego and it made me want to get more into off roading. At that time I had a silver 05 prerunner with the factory locker. I upgraded to a 09 4x4 and swapped over the suspension from the 05. I have been on several runs where we just run the main trails which are easy and not the bypasses. I find it to be not that much of a challenge and want to advance to the next level. I think this class will help me achieve that and better prepare me for all aspects of off roading.

My truck is a 2009 4x4 double cab trd off road. I have a 3" lift with Icon coilovers and rear shocks, total chaos UCAs, and a add a leaf. 33" BFG KM2's, CB,

I am in the process of getting some sliders and a set of skids. If the event is held in Jan I might have a ARB bumper and winch. I need to get a full size spare and everything else. I have a tow strap and a shackle on my hitch for a rear recovery point. So I am lacking in the recovery gear area.

As for what I want to learn. I would like to learn how to pick good lines and work on being a spotter and driving with a spotter. I would like to learn the proper way to recover vehicles using different types of recovery equipment. I would like to go over emergency scenarios so I am more prepared for what can happen while off roading.

I would rate my self somewhere between novice and intermediate.
