R.O.A.D InTire Warranty, anyone else?

I was washing my truck today and noticed that my wheels have chips, some really good ones. One looks like if someone took the claw end of a hammer to it. I have the warranty and was wondering if someone has had experience with a claim on this type of warranty. I want to be "prepared" for when/if I go talk to the dealer. My argument is that, with time, chips and gouges will oxidate and compromise the integrity of the wheel. Thanks

Road hazard damage is not covered except as specified by the tire treadwear warranty, and it's only going to cover the tires.

 

The chips will oxidize eventually, but that's not what warranties are made for. Chips happen as a course of normal wear and tear...Why would the dealership/OEM be responsible for that?

 

I brought the question up because the warranty states that, said warranty "replaces tire and /or wheel due to damages from road hazards". I just do not know exactly what hazards it covers. I assume anything that compromises the integrity of the wheel, no? These warranties do sound ridiculous but I also have a warranty that fixes rock chips in my windshield for the next 3 years. This would also be a "wear amd tear" classification, but I have it.

 

i was just trying to accumulate information from you guys to see if any of you had prior experience with this sort of claim.
