Yeah, I don't expect them to last as long as OEM but I still won't go back. I felt that the Toyota pad/rotor combo had a horrible initial bite and did not do a great job stopping the truck. Not sure if the 5lugger OEM stuff works better or not but i wasn't impressed with my braking system from the factory.

A slew of pricey stuff my wife hates me for.
I've had terrible luck with OEM brakes running oversize tires. LCE slotted rotors and Hawk pads solved that on my Gen 1. When its time to do them on my Gen 2 I'm thinking EBC dimpled and greenstuff pads. Again, I'm running oversize tires.

I just changed mine, put ebc green stuff 7000 series on. I've always used ebc for my motorcycle and trust it completely. I only have about 60 miles with these new pads but I can already feel a difference from the oem pads. Not sure why you would stick with oem if you can find something better?

I would be surprised if your rear shoes need replacing at the same time as your fronts, my 01 rears went well over 100,000 miles.

I was not happy with EBC on my motorcycle for several reasons:

1 - OEM pads went 18k no problem. EBC were done in 8k
2 - EBC were very "grabby"... I had numerous wheel lockups with them during light braking
3 - EBC lists one part number for my front left caliper, one part for front right and rear. Spec is 4mm.
Kawasaki lists 3 different part numbers. 4mm spec for front, 8mm for rear.
