Help with Replacement Tail Light - Screwy wiring?? Thoughts?

    Hi all,

I ordered a replacement drivers side taillight off Amazon, as my original lost a fight with a tree.

This was the light I ordered:

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004HLWPO2/ref=oh_details_o07_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The reviews had me pretty confident the light would work as it should with a 2010 tacoma. The whole assembly looked completely normal - exactly the same as my old one. The install was super simple - plugged the two harness plugs into the corresponding ones on the light assembly (there's really no way to get that mixed up).

But for some reason, when I turn on my left blinker, instead of the yellow signal light on the top of the assembly flashing....

the main brake light flashes along with BOTH white reverse lights (the one on the bottom of the replacement light I bought and the one my passenger side, factory tail light). And, as far as I can tell, because the reverse lights are flashing for whatever reason....I get a repeated beeping noise in the cab when I turn on my left signal - the same beep you hear when you shift into reverse - which is really annoying.

So, until I go through the process of returning this thing.....can anyone think of any reason - a fuse or something? - that this might be happening that's not the replacement light assembly itself?

    Thanks for any thoughts...
