Some dude twerked my back bumper like Miley Cyrus at the VMA. Doh! Got off work from my station headed home this morning, with a light rain coming down. I was almost home and sitting at a red light and this dude in an '08 Mustang couldn't stop and kissed my back bumper. Luckily it didn't move it enough to get into the body/paint. Tweaked the drivers side in and up a little bit, and put a slight bow in my hitch plug bracket. I can't see any obvious tweaks in the bumper, but I can see where the plastic moldings are displaced a little. Also popped one of the L-plate lights out of it's mount. I didn't even mess up my derp job.. ha ha.

I might see about getting a better replacement if they just cut me a check though. Not the way I wanted to go about it, but we'll see how it turns out. I guess maybe at least I got the new truck de-virginized .. hopefully that's out of the way and I have no more road sex with any other vehicles. Those damn Mustangs will hump anything..

That's what I'm thinking :proposetoast: But it will probably depend on what they Ins money looks like. If they say it's 200 and the plate bumper I want is 750, then I may still have to wait on it. I have several other non truck related things I'm buying right now. But, I might choose to get some steel and do something myself.

Happens everywhere sadly. No, he was cool. I didn't get hurt, so .. it happens. I have slid at the exact same spot in my 82 Toyota 4x4. No anitlocks and I was lucky no one was at the light. Same weather, light rain, and I touched the brakes and slid. I'm pretty good about down shifting and none of that helped, it can get like ice there. I think the trucks from the gas station there drag diesel out onto the road and you know how that gets when it's wet. We don't get enough rain to keep it cleaned off these days, so a little shower and it's like an ice rink.

Yeah, I was a little pissed when I got out. But once I could see it was only the bumper and no body/paint, I was ok. I think the idea of it pissed me off more than anything. Of course I gave him the "I don't even have a 1000 miles on this truck line". But I didn't give him any grief over it. It happens.

I'll either shop for plate bumpers, contemplate making my own (which time is not good for me) or at the very least I'll let them give me a black stocker and pocket the difference of the chrome one. I don't like the chrome anyway.

Oh no hope the mustang is ok is it a v8 and standard? Your truck shoulda stop further up giving the mustang more room to brake

Uh, ok.. well, when you're sitting still at the light and you get rear-ended, make sure stop somewhere else so they have more room to brake. I was sitting there a full minute before he hit me.

I didn't pop his hood and crawl around inside ... couldn't tell you what floor matts he had ether. :p His hood was screwed up and buckled though, so I faired better than he.

Yeah, they also always travel fully packed in vans. Stay the hell away from those ones!
