    The Toyota repair manual says that when working on airbags, disconnect battery and wait 90 seconds. The airbag system has a battery backup that will discharge within 90 seconds.

    Removing mine today to clean my carpet. glad you didnt have to pull the battery, im not going to for the same reasons, laziness and not wanting to reset everthing. thanks for the info!
