So I had an interface in my 2012, PT545-00082, worked great in my 2012.

Installed in my 2013. No dice, it streams the audio but no controls are there,
it sees it only as a SAT radio input.

So I call into my dealer and they use the same South East PN for almost all models, he had never seen my PN?

    00016-00117

Funny thing is you can see both part numbers on different parts pages,

This link says for Tacoma it ends in 2011, but it did work in my 2012.

This link says it's good for a lot of Toyotas including my 2013 Tacoma,

So if you have a 2013 with the base stereo and are running an Ipod interface where the Ipod is plugged into a cable in your glove box, can someone confirm it works, I can sell my old interface and put the funds towards a newer one.

    Thanks gang, :D

My iPod plugged in via the USB under the ac controls loads all the songs and ability to change songs etc. It labels it iPod on the input list when you hit the audio source button. Hope this helps.

Hmm not sure what you mean there. I though Display Audio is the standard HU in all 2013:

Display Audio — includes 6.1-in. touch-screen, AM/FM CD player with MP3/WMA playback capability, six speakers (four on Regular Cab), subwoofer on X-Runner, auxiliary audio jack, USB port3 with iPod®4 connectivity and control, and hands-free phone capability, phone book.

So you should already have a usb Interface?

    Thanks for the input,

I don't have the USB plug though, I have a regular cab, they aren't wired the same for sure, no RCs come with pre-wiring for fogs either.
I learned a lot with my 2012, don't get me started between the differences from bench to bucket seat stuff, Toyota even changed the width of the stinking buckle receptacles, lol...

They are a little more stripped down, Lol...

I do have an aux input 3.5mm jack, but the audio through it sounds pretty lame,

Wow. E-brochure shows it for the RC too:

    http://www.toyota.com/content/ebrochure/2013/tacoma_ebrochure.pdf

So I guess they must've decided against it for the RCs then after all. Though, do you think they would actually have a special HU for the RC? Reason I'm asking is maybe the USB interface is on your HU already & you just need to extend that via a harness or something vs installing a control box?

I have a 2013 regular cab, and it has the USB plug, right below the air conditioner. An iPod plugged into that has all the controls and shows up as "iPod" on the head unit.

According to the brochure, the USB port is standard on all 2013 models including a 5 lug RC.

You might want to check again for a USB plug under your AC controls.

Gang I am truly sorry about my mistake,

Thanks for chiming in and trying to support me, I feel like a doofus! You all are right...

I went out this morning and after checking my manual, I stupidly thought my aux plug was just like my 2012, with only the 3.5mm headset jack in it,

Lol... I certainly do have a USB there also, and it works just fine with my Ipod.

Again I am really sorry. I can't believe I overlooked it, And I have 10+ years of Service Writer behind me, lol...:crapstorm:

Anybody know what format a USB drive has to be in for it to read drive? I checked OM and Display Audio System manual. I'm not stoked on having my iPod in my truck, they get Jacked all the time in Cali.

I used to use my ipod, but was also worried about it getting lifted. Recently just figured out how to put all my itunes on my Droid Razr, much nicer setup. Bluetooth is the way to go. And the nice thing is that when it is set to bluetooth audio you get the voice prompts for the phone navigation that I always use, and when notifications come in you hear it. Doesn't work that way when you are using and ipod.
