I have nothing else to do at work but sit in front of the computer looking at expensive parts I can't afford at the time. Then i thought of the issues I have going on with my truc...and thought "my ride is pretty harsh on the road and off road" I currently have FOX 2.5 coilovers with resi...I'm a prerunner lifted with Maxtrac spindles, so my coilovers are set at 0"...no theads showing...must be a nice ride with no preload right? wrong, I'm pretty sure I have the 600 lb 14" springs...Now my boredom got me thinking...What if I could replace that 600 lb spring with let's say a 550 or 500 lb...anything negative about going that route? ...What would you suspension guys recommend to get a smoother ride on the road? valving? different spring?

re-charged about a month ago, are showing, a few threads are covered by the locking ring, tires are at 32 psi, bought these used (5k) originally for an fj, per fox, same coilover, valving etc, only difference is the resi mounting bracket...

pressure at 200. original owner said he had them on for 5k, then went long travel...i've had them for maybe 1k, if that...shocks look mint, with the exception of the resi stickers kinda messed up by the clamps...no leaks of any kind...local offroad shop who filled my nitro said to hold off on a rebuild...unless fj coilovers have a different valving or spring rate...i mean, they're not horrible...reminds me of when I had 5100's with toytec springs...but it definitely feels bumpy and still have to slow down to 2 mph on speed bumps...unlike other users on here reporting going through them at 40 mph and not feeling them...lol. I was just expecting a better ride out of a $1300 shock...(not what i paid for them, btw)

Ya, that's weird......shouldn't be the case. My icons are buttery smooth at 2" lift.

yeah, i find it a bit weird...either way, i decided to go the rebuild and re-valve route...the shop i'm working with will do them for $60 bucks plus parts...which i'm getting through fox. I'll update with results...hopefully the ride feels a bit better...

I haven't compared these to other fox coilovers on a different tacoma...but i've ridden in several other trucks with fox coilovers and feel like heaven compared to mine...
