08 regular cab 5 lug. I was driving today and every time I hit the brakes, a screeching sound occurred. I guess I need new brakes. What are the best? Are oem any good? How much do they cost? Any help would be appreciated.

A lot of people on here are going to say OEM, which is a good answer for some things. The OEM oil filter is just as good as anything else, the air filter is the same. BUT...the brake pads aren't necessarily "the best". They are decent and work fine, but you can get better. IMO Hawk and EBC are the best quality you can buy for any price, I'm using the EBC 7000 series.

The EBC stop better than the OEM but I haven't been using them long enough to know how long they'll last. My OEM's only went about 40,000 miles before I needed to replace them.

Almost 65K on my original OEM pads/rotors and they are still good. Will replace with the same.
