Honestly, I bet they sell a bunch of these, especially to people who wanted a Sport but don't want to pay the extra cost.

Too many to list, and I've probably forgotten a bunch.
It's not uncommon to see stagnation like this just before a generational change. First you get a minor to moderate facelift, then you get some nonsense 'option' or 'trim' packages, then in another year or two, you get a new generation.

Watched it happen with the 92-94 pickups, the '03 and '04 Tacoma, and pretty sure we're seeing it with the '12 - '14 Tacoma.

Often they'll test the waters with a feature (it may exist elsewhere in the lineup) or two in the dead-end of the current generation. Sort of how they migrated to drive-by-wire with the '04 Tacomas and then it carried over into the '05 2nd gen.

Looks good to me and at least toyota is giving us new updates. This platform is at the end of its road, we all know that no big secret. Even with that Toyota has made changes almost every year when they could just let it go out as it was.

What the hell is everyone's problem? This is a sweet, cheap option for people who just want some color matched body parts w/o buying all the other ridiculously overpriced option packages.

I have a '12 SR5 and like the truck. Seeing this '14 Taco, wonder if I can buy the grille surround (chromed plastic on my truck) in Sage Mica right from Toyota.

Now if Toyota could just offer a decent looking grille on the newest trucks... I want a Staochi type grille but for us 2012-13 guys it is a homebrew project.

Why does a 40" x 12" piece of expanded metal mesh cost $200 from Grillecraft? AND we still have to remove the stocker, cut out the ugly stock plastic and build up a grille.

I'm searching but I can't find it. Could you give me the search term or PN you used? I'd like to compare the cost of a new painted vs having my body guy paint mine. Thanks :)

The 2nd gen tacoma stands its ground in design. They look like a truck and they ride like a truck in a time of "20's" and low profile tires on most new trucks and suv's. I loathe the day when the standard wheels on tacoma's are 18" and every body corner is silky smooth. Those days are probably coming folks. I like this current platform, even the first gen's.
