Turn A/C compressor into onboard air.

Hey I was just wondering if anyone has done this. I'd be curious to see. I did it on my old exploder.

I think it depends on your compressor. I've done this to my old Dakota, but the compressor was a SD7. I have seen others take the Delco compressors in chevy's and do it too. Not quite sure how they turned out in the end though.

 

Ya thats kinda what i'm pokin for is to see if the toyota compressor will take it.

 

i like my cold air too much on a hot day i would personally just get a small 12 volt compressor that does 200 psi

 

with the Delco compressors, they treated them like Sandens, making sure that they had an inline oiler. The last one I saw was a guy that converted his Delco comp in his old caddy, from the looks of things it went fairly well, not sure what pressure he was running it at though (he was using for his air ride system).

also one thing I noticed about converting your s/c to an edc, it's a bitch to find fittings.

 

I've converted delco and york. Both worked great. They produce very high CFM with a set pressure of 120 psi.

 

Really would like to do this... I never use my AC in Maine or Montana. Did any of you end up doing it? Love to see some pictures, and hear what problems you ran into.
