After doing some research here and getting excited about buying new Michelin tires for my 2001 2wd Xtra Cab Tacoma (tire size 205/75 R15) I went to Michelin's web site and found out they no longer manufacture any of their tires in my size! My driving is all street and highway, no off road (unless you count dirt parking lots, though I did drive over a curb once by accident). I'm in the South so the biggest concern I have is heat and rain. I don't ever drive over about 80mph and think handling/braking is the most important thing I need. Besides nominating me for the most boring truck owner ever, any suggestions? Much thanks.

I have Michelin Rain-X in 215/75-15 size, don't see them available anymore. New 5-lugs 205?

The X Radial DT is still available in 215.

Can you go to a 225/70R15? Only .3" taller so it shouldn't effect your speedo much at all.

Well I did get new tires - I forget which. And then right after that my fuel injectors went out and I had to buy a new truck. Wish I could have saved the money on the new tires!

Please enumerate on this, ALL your injectors went bad at once? I am finding this hard to believe....less than $100 to replace an injector yourself, but it does take some time if you had a 3.4, intake manifold has to be removed...

congrats on the new truck anyway...

One of the four cylinders started to work only intermittently. I took it in to the dealership that said it was a cable that was bad. They replaced it (for like $500 or something, I don't remember) but that still didn't fix it. Then they told me that it was a bad fuel injector (only one injector) and was going to cost another insane amount to fix ($1000?). I looked here on this site which seemed to validate the problem. I didn't ask here how much it *should* have cost to fix it. The truck was 12 - 13 years old with only 140K miles on it, but I just decided to get a new one because I didn't want to keep throwing money into the old one. I do like the access cab with the doors much better, and of course any safety improvements. I was bummed I couldn't get more mileage out of it though. Oh well, there are much bigger problems in life I suppose.
