Ok guys here is the issue Im looking for a Baja Tacoma because they are bad azz!! but the issues are 1)Im in the southeast and they are not here I have to go to Tenn to get it. 2)they only come in Black or Red which Im not a fan of either color. I currently have an 09 TRD OR and will be getting a 13 in feb, the question is should I settle for Baja colors and may have a hard time reselling and easy to scratch or should I get Mag Grey TRD OR and just add suspension and wheels myself. Input and explinations would be great thanks in advance.

everyone is gonna say "blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah SR5" and add it yourself, but the factory options on the baja is nice. If your going to regret those colors just stick with a TRD OR in the color you want.

Just kidding. I'd go with the OR if you plan on modding, baja if you want to keep it stock

This. It will be cheaper in the long run and will make you happier knowing it is YOURS and not a cookie cuter truck. You could choose what rims and tires you want and the lift options are better aftermarket.

Only bad thing would be warranty...that would come with the Baja.

If you're not set on those colors just get an OR and do your own lift. Baja does have BFG AT's instead of the Rugged fails and the TRD exhaust as well plus diff wheels.

I have Mag Grey and it shows scratches horribly! Also, Toyotas paint isn't that great so get white or silver if you don't want to show scratches... MGM is a great color tho!! I wouldn't change it in hind-sight..

Congrats on the new truck. I understand your decision having been following a similar path.

Raptor is very cool and worthy truck.

Baja, never seen one, but realize what it is. Lot of opinions on build your own vs buying the Baja.

Tacoma off-road, less money and could spend it to build good suspension...

Then, I have the final option of keeping mine and building the 2wd prerunner as I want it.

The Raptor is cool but difficult to see or just buy...plan on ordering the one built how you want it and good luck on getting a deal either new or used. hey hold value.

Dealer finally called with Baja info, stated some will be entering the SE US in Feb, no details on pricing.

TRD off-road, yes it could be built easily with good suspension, probably the better deal compared to a Baja if you DIY.

Keeping my truck and modding it, wife doesn't understand and says it's fine as is.

No good answer, but homework is done.

Had a look at Baja today and wasn't impressed. You could do better with a base model and add Fox or king shocks and you will already be ahead. The TRD wheels are crap as they have a beadlock lip on them to trap mud, snow, ice and other debris to throw your wheels off balance. Front shocks are non adjustable if you decide to change ride height because of a bumper..and the cost!!!...phewww. TRD models not worth the fuss either unless u want a rear locker. The Bilstein shocks are junk!!You can make the Auto LSD work like a locker with one clip of a wire...just my observations.
