    My local dealership quoted $800 for the 60K maintenance. I have read what needs to be done at 60K and I can do most of it myself. I can't see how they can come up with a ridiculous figure like $800 for what needs to be done for the 60K.

    Capitalism, i can charge whatever i want as a business owner. Call around to some other dealerships and see if you get a better rate... otherwise DIY what you can and pay someone else to do the rest.

    It adds up at dealer pricing depending in what they are quoting you. List what they quoted you.

    Thats because so many people these days don't know how to do simple maint. things on their vehicle. Heck, even if your not that mechanically inclined, just join a forum and buy some tools and learn how to DIY. I agree, dealerships are outrageous sometimes

    Damn! I figured 60k maintenance through a dealer would be pricey, didn't think it would be that much tho!

    I just did my 60k maintenance and I saved a pile of $$. With so many DIY's on this forum for everything, it wasn't hard to do at all.

    Lets see,
    2 gallons of Lucas synthetic gear oil = $120
    Spark plugs = $18
    Air filter = $25
    Total = $163 plus taxes.

    I probably spent 4 hrs total doing all the work, and that's with plenty of coffee breaks. :)

    I could only imagine what our Canadian dealerships would want for that service... :mad:
