Sometimes I wish I got myself a long bed Tacoma so I could haul my motorcycle instead of having to resort to a trailer to pull it. Anyone has transported a full size cruiser on their Tacoma before?

    Too heavy.
Load capacity is between 850 and 1300 depending on the model.
    That capacity includes passengers.
800lb cruiser is pushing it... not to mention getting a cruiser into and out of the truck.

Personally, I don't care if I've got a long bed Silverado... I'm not hauling a bike in the bed bigger than a dirtbike or a 600 class sportbike.

    Also, too long.
I can't find the exact specs right now, but my Vulcan 1600 has a 66.7" wheelbase. Adding another 16" to account for the half-wheel front and back and that's already just under 7ft... and that's without the tires mounted.

Ever sit on your tailgate? You don't want the rear tire resting on the tailgate. Might be able to fit it diagonally... if the tailgate survives loading and the back and forth to get the rear tire to the side.

It won't be that much weight on the tailgate once he straps it down appropriately, just needs to make sure his front mounting point is real secure. If your cruiser is over 800lbs you will have some sag for sure but it will survive a short trip.

If the rear wheel is on the tailgate , it would be 1/2 the bike's weight , no ?

    Roughly, maybe a bit more.

My Vulcan tilts back a bit when lifted from under the pan. Not badly, I can tilt it forward easily, but the weight is biased to the rear.
