Anyone fix the seat belt rattle problem????

I think I have the awesome ear level seatbelt rattle, which I hate. I'll take my truck into the stealership and have it fixed when I get it serviced at 5000 miles. However, if there is a mod or fix for this problem I would rather fix it myself then waste half my day sitting at the stealership. Anyone have a fix? I know some people have adjusted it all the way up or down to shut it up, but I'm not sure if that will fix it.

Looks like he's taking it to the dealership for the 5k mile maint... not just for the rattle.

I don't have an answer... sorry... BTT.

 

Currently it has 700 miles on it, yes it rattles, yes it annoys the SHIT out of me. However, I will wait until I have another reason to take it to the dealership to bitch about it, like taking advantage of my free maintenance program. I would like to fix it before 5000 miles though I will look at it after work today, if I find a way to fix it I will post my fix.

 

I have it as well. It really is a pain. Escpeically when there is not much road noise. Got to be a way.

 

I tore the door down one day to find an answer. I think the rattle is comming from the height adjuster. It's an all plastic part and the button rattles against the housing. Got that far and couldn't find a way to stop the rattle. I thought of just slopping grease all over it but it is right above the seat belt and I didn't want it to drip.

Does that make any sense?

Is there not just a place to shove a folded up piece of paper between two pieces of plastic to get them to stop vibrating against each other?!

I know this isn't a very solid, permanent fix but if it stops the noise then let me know.

I drive an '08 access cab and that noise drives me nuts.
