dirt bike in the bed

So I've had my DCSB for about 3 weeks now and I havent tried putting my dirt bike in the bed yet. my old taco was an access cab with the 6 foot bed, so i wanted to know how all of you taco owners haul your bike with the 5ft box. that foot really makes a difference. pics would be nice! thanks guys!

 

It probably does. You'll more than likely have to leave your tailgate down for the extra length.

I think even with the 6 foot bed they have to put the tailgate down.

 

tailgate down it fits fine.

 

I could fit it diagonal, otherwise yeah the tailgate had to be down.

 

I swung my bike over and was able to close the gate on my old taco

Just have to manoeuvre and possibly improvise.

 

Just to be clear, I was talking about the 6' bed.

With the 5' bed you can't fit the bike in diagonal as far as I know. The rear tire has to sit on the tailgate.

 

I hauled my buddies Yamaha 400 in mine and I had to leave the tail gate down. It didn't really put much weight on it though. Even my trx400ex quad barely sticks out the back.

 

I can haul my dirt bike fine. I do the diagonal method. Even had a honda rancher 420 in the back.

 

my crf250 fits in the long bed diagonally. but a short bed will have to have the gate down.... unless they are mini bikes

 

My thoughts exactly.

 

I have hauled mine both ways. I prefer the straight in method because the way it's strapped seems better for preventing the bike from falling. Although tailgate down it fits fine both ways.

 

I'm always hauling mine and the wifeys and always with the tailgate down. Long bed but same should apply with a 5 ft bed
