Not sure if anyone else ran across this problem when using the DIY thread, but here is what you need to do exactly if you have a 2011 2.7L (Automatic) and you want to install the factory OEM Cruise Control. I searched for easy answers, and anything on this subject and after just doing it myself if anyone had troubles this was my solution.

These are the parts I ended up using.

82998-12870 Terminal Pin Repair Wire (Qty 3)
84632-08021 Cruise control switch (this is the stalk)
45186-0C020-B1 Steering wheel cover (order based on your steering wheel cover color)
84633-04020 Cruise control wire (this is what connects the stalk to the steering wheel spinal)
    Qty X 2 - 1/2" x 10/32" Phillps Head Screws (Lowes had them for $2)
14 Gauge Black Wire (Used for Negative)
14 Gauge Red Wire (Used for Hot)
1 Eye or Forked Crimp (For your ground wire)

I am just posting this because I thought the DIY thread on the other forum would be updated if something didn't work, its titled 2005+ Tacoma's...well if you have a 2011 like mine the S8 plug under the steering column only has one wire in it.

You must run a wire from #1 Terminal (Remember this picture is showing you the FRONT of the plug not the backside) to the the #31 Pin on the E7 plug of your ECU for the Cruise Signal.

After that run a wire from the #2 Terminal on the S8 plug to any ground of your choice. I used the ground collection under the left side kick panel.

I used the two repair wires with terminals attached (one on #31 of E7 and one on #1 on S8) with a 14 gauge red wire I soldered in between (you could crimp a wire in also).

For the ground I used one repair wire with terminal attached from the #2 Terminal on the S8 plug to a crimped on eye/fork to my ground pact under the left side kick panel.

After that you will not have cruise show up on your dash, because I did not run the wire from the E7 plug to the dash panel, but the cruise control works just fine.

If you want to show up cruise light on your dash it just requires you running an extra wire from the E7 plug to the dash panel.
