Battery Replacement

Thinking about relaceing the stock battery on my 07 in the near future. It looks like Johnson Controls no longer makes the Group 27F and Toyota now puts their name on the True Start brand. What are you guys paying for the 27F (tow package replacement) for this battery? My dealership quoted me a price of $165 installed.

 

Update: After researching this more it appears the True Start brand is made by Johnson Controls and the battery (without installation) goes for around $96.

Johnson controls makes almost every battery you see at every walmart, kmart, sears, advance auto, autozone, carquest and napa.

If you have an AAP you can order online, use the 15-20% coupon code, select pick up in store and have it installed.

 

Does it have to be that brand? There are plenty of aftermarket brands around that dealerships price that are much better. Oh and do you really need the dealership to install the battery, save the cash and do it.

 

Peter, what is a "Power Frame plate" and who currently manufacturers Advances private labeled batteries--Johnson Controls, Exide, East Penn, or Douglas?
