    updated October 26, 2013

The road is fully open. There is some snow at the top of the pass, but it is passable. Ice is forming in creek crossings. Take all crossings slowly. High-clearance 4WD is required at all times to drive on the Medano Pass Road.

Ended up passed out in my RTT again last night. We brewed up a special batch of apple pie. Come to find out we drank a half gallon of it last night.

    2nd juice fast day 1 check-in:

    Starting Weight: 290.8
    Current Weight: 259.0
    Previous Weight: 261.4
    Lost since yesterday: 1.4
    Total Weight lost: 31.4
    Lost since fast: 8.4

I haven't done an update for a while since things have been much slower (with a lot more up and down days being pretty regular as expected) but decided that I'm going to do a 2nd juice fast starting today. I have done well with my eating habits and have pretty much kept to me plan while I was still fasting. No bread, cheese, milk, dairy, pop and smaller portions with better foods overall. Heck, my last meal last night before starting was a salad so that should be a good indication as to what the original juice fast has done for my decision making when it comes to food. Healthier decisions aren't as difficult as they were prior to doing the juice fast. I've done a decent job of weight loss since the fast and certainly haven't gained weight like some warned would happen. The weight loss has just been slower which is to be expected but I'm looking to see if I can spike another weight loss to further my progression. Hence the 2nd juice fast and I'm tentatively planning another one near the end of November after Thanksgiving too depending on how this 2nd one goes. This time I'm planning on 2 weeks and the goal is 20lbs which is close to what I lost in the first 2 weeks last time. I started my last (and first) juice fast July 1st and wasn't sure how long I would do it being as I had never done one before. It could have been from a matter of days (if it didn't go well) to months as I had seen some people go for 60 days and more. This time I have a better idea so I'm planning for 2 weeks from today. The plan will be the same as last... nothing but juice & water for 2 weeks. I've got a few Naked Juices but also topped off the drawers with veggies once again too. I'll have regular updates again for those interested.

So I read some posts from a few of you about a drain valve for your oil pan. I know at least one of you got it and Im wondering if you have put it in yet and if so how well does it work? Im looking into getting a new skid plate and I think this valve will work very well with it. I just dont know how the guys at the dealer ship who change my oil will react to it.
so any thoughts or personal experiences you can tell me would be great.

If the dealership changes your oil this won't save you any money so no point in getting it

Change oil yourself, both bob and I got the fumoto F-103N valve. I'm waiting till my next oil change to install then I have to wait till the next one to use it for the first time. I'm excited to have an easy oil change through my allpro skid!!

Ost, gluck with your juice run. I think your post several months ago inspired me to do my second run - I think I held it together for about a week but still eating something for dinner... dropped a little less than 10lbs but it hasn't come back. Good thinking on doing another round, I should definitely do the same. IMO, if you can do something for a week or so and knock off several lbs, even in a way some would consider unhealthy, it could be what you need to jump start your metabolism. A couple years ago I went from 225-230 to 200lbs... the first ~15 were a result of walking to and from bars every night and working all day, certainly not healthy. After that I just started losing weight eating more normal meals and with less activity. Then once I hit 200 it was like eat whatever, dumps like a truck, not gain a pound.

Took some serious effort (or severe lack of discipline, late night delivery, and laziness) to wind up back where I started... I knew better.
