Do your break-in. Read the manual. Enjoy the new truck.

Drive it normal and don't beat the engine. Do your regular maintenance on timely intervals and it should last 250k+ miles easy.

If snow and Ice, along with salted roads are an issue where you live, then folks up in likewise areas seem to like a product called fluid film. it can be bought in a can, and used with a sprayer, or it can be bought in rattle cans. Many seem to swear by it. If you don't see salted roads, and undercarriage rust is seldom an issue, then it would be ok to leave as is, and just clean it regularly. But, you can use the fluid film even if you don't deal with salt, if you just want to keep it as nice as you can.

Rust isn't much of an issue where I am, and I live on a dirt road, so for now I plan to just clean mine often, like I've done on previous trucks. I'd be afraid the FF would just attract too much dirt needlessly.

For the price and effectiveness it's hard to beat fluid film. Get one of the kits with the spray gun and don't look back. I just did my 14 AC and theres nothing to putting it on
