I've avoided PayPal for a while b/c they take a bite out of every transaction. Every time I sell something on Ebay I know that I'm going to get less than the final price b/c Ebay charges me, then PayPal hits me for just receiving money. I've always sent money orders for stuff I've purchased from TW members (or other sites) for the same reason.

Well NO MORE! (Sort of...) PayPal no longer charges a fee for personal money transfers. When you're sending money, they make you choose between "Purchase" and "Personal." If you choose Personal, AND fund your money from either 1) your PayPal balance, or 2) a linked US bank account, then there is no transaction fee to send or receive!

If you DON'T have a checking account linked to your PayPal account and you're funding with a credit card or debit card, then there will be a fee charged to the person receiving the money.

Basically, if you're buying something from a TW member, choose "Personal" then "Gift" and nobody has to eat 4%.

Note: If you're paying for an Ebay purchase, you can't choose personal. You have to choose purchase, so ebay transactions will still get you.

Here are the policies straight from the PayPal site.
