I just got a pair of Hella 500FFs from Amazon.

I can mount them on the bumper at 35" or I can mount them on the roof rack, which is on my camper shell which is 3 inches taller than the cab of my truck at 75". In California if they're higher than 42" I need to cover them. But on the roof rack I can mount them so I can rotate them straight down, which not only conceals them a little but reduces drag as well.

Primarily I'm looking for better lighting while driving at night on winding mountain roads or on dirt roads in the desert. I feel like the roof rack will accomplish this much better than down low on the bumper.

    What do you guys think?
