Weird evening out in the woods tonight. I got setup about 2pm and settled in on a nice thicket to wait for dark. around 3 30 it goes from clear and warm to 30mph winds and rainy in about 5 minutes. decide to ride it out and 20 minutes later it is right back to where it started. after the wind let up the squirrels came back out but they were all moving at the speed of light. instead of normal hippity hopping they were at a dead sprint everywhere. Then about an hour before dark I hear some turkeys comin up from the bottom by the creek but when i see them they are aslo at a full sprint. as they crest the ridge they all take off and fly away. a few minutes later from behind me 2 deer come in at a full sprint. They passed within 5 feet of me and I grunted at em but they didnt even slow down. just kept on rollin like satin himself was after them. Finally it gets dark and i climb down and like 3 squirrels come out of their nests and start running around no further than 15 yards from me.

I dont know what was goin on in there today but it was the strangest thing ive ever seen

^that's weird, the only time i've heard of animals running like that is when theres a fire.

I asked in the waterfowl thread but it's dead, so i'll ask here, I'm buying a BPS soon and i'm getting the camo model, It'll be a multi-purpose gun, used for ducks, turkeys, trap, and possibly deer, my camo options are real tree AP (26'' barrel, about $700), and mossy oak breakup infinite (28'' barrel, almost $800) (priced through buds gun shop)

I'm gonna check with the LGS and see how much he can get me a 26'' mossy oak for also.

    Thoughts?

get the cheaper one. camo is camo. if they are gonna bust you because of the camo pattern on your gun they are gonna bust you for something else first. the point of camo is to break up your outline and not to blend in with your surroundings. animals don't know the difference between mossy oak/duck blind/real tree. all they know is there is an outline there or there isnt an outline there

I'll tell ya who it was, it's the damn Sasquatch.

Ordered my scope today. Nikon Prostaff 5 2.5-10x40. Also ordered some federal premium vital shok trophy bonded tip 180 grain. Heard good things. Always used Remington core lokt bullets before.

Nope. I've got a Pawn Shop here that always has a few 100 round boxes of CCI. They were limiting 1 box per person. Don't know about now. I bought some 350 round boxes from Cabela's a while back. Website said they didn't have it in stock, but someone on here said if you called them, they actually had it, so I gave it a shot and sure enough, was able to get 2 boxes.

I was walking to my stand of off HWY 61. Soon as I got close enough I saw a Big ole deer run from one of my corn pile to other, right on the Ashley river. He was looking dead at me. Hell I was more shocked them him. I then slowly pulled my Browning 7mm around on my shoulder, And folded his ass up. He had no choice but to drop being less then 25 yrs. I was so stoked!!! It was to easy that day, But then I found myself dragging a 162 lb buck 350+ yards out the wood.

    Here's his ass today :yay:

Yeah, my local gun shop only sells boxes of 50, but you can only get 1 box at a time. Wal Mart and Academy can't tell anyone when shipments arrive, so whenever I go to either one, they're sold out. All the online stores are always out of stock too.

Anyway, I have a friend who's dad owns a hydrographic machine and they dipped a buck skull last week. So badass:
