Superwinch has a specific drum for synthetic lines. If you buy one their winches with a wire line, and then put a synthetic line on it, that may end up damaging the drum. If you are looking to go synthetic, get it from the get go.

I know, but thanks. What I was trying to say was that to get the identical winch, more or less, with a synthetic line, they are $400 or so more than the equivalent winch that comes with a steel cable.

Still works, just ordered a 12.5i talon. I was on a different site before I went to superwinchexperts.com their starting prices are considerably lower than the superwinch site but the 40% discount makes up for it.

This sale went in November of last year. I assume it may go again next year.
