I have a 2013 Taco TRD 4x4 V6 12k miles. Friday I floored it passing another car and a cloud of white smoke came out. When I got it home I changed the oil. I was going to do that anyway, it was a few miles past due. I let it run for a bit and noticed some slight white smog coming out of the exhaust , just slightly. The exhaust feels moist and there is a bit of water dropping from the tail pipe. Is it possible it has a headgasket problem or could it be something else. I mean come on its at 12000 miles. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

was the oil chocolate milk? Have you checked the radiator and reservoir to be sure they are topped off?

Oil looked alright to me, there didn't appear to be any water in it. Reservoir was about 1/4 inch down from the fill line.

Head gasket isn't likely unless you really cooked it. What RPM range did you hit when you "floored it"? At any rate, you can look around your head gasket area for some crystallized pink stuff (coolant) that would indicate a leak. If there are any issues then take it to your dealer, your warranty is still very well intact.

Eh I really didn't pay attention to the RPM , it was only a short burst, pretty sure it wouldn't have gotten that hot. Thanks, Ill take look at that area.

Water is normal it comes from burning gasoline. Antifreeze is not that comes from the cooling system and it has a very distinctive smell to it when it's burnt.

    Ditto.
Does it smell like simple steam/water, or coolant?

    back to bone stock.
this. water from the exhaust is normal. it is a byproduct of combustion.

check oil for water, or coolant for oil. or just take the warrantied truck to the dealer for a checkup.

if you blew the headgasket..it would spew white smoke.

Did it happen in the morning when it was cool? Maybe during your first few miles of your drive?
