so i installed a JVC AV70BT headunit on my car and EVERYTIME i make/receive calls the person on the other line says they cant hear me or they hear me all staticky . i am using an iphone 5s and i a have already turned the audio all the way up on the mic nd still nothing. Could it be the mic isnt working the way its supposed or perhaps maybe the wiring could be wrong? When i first installed the headunit i was able to make phone calls with no problems for a few days but then it just stopped working properly. any suggestions?

Where is your mic located? People say mine sounds bad when the windows are down. I have it on the gauge cluster.

I mounted on the top of the steering wheel. In front of the speedometer. I was thinking maybe it might be a faulty mic? Or maybe my ground wire is connected wrong? Idk it just bums me out that I can't take full advantage of my HeadUnit.

If your ground on the HU was bad you'd have bigger issues then your BT calls sounding bad.

Try a new mic if you can find one. I've noticed most aftermarket HU's don't sound as good with bluetooth calls vs the stock setup. But its worth trying a new mic.

If someone did the install for you, take it back and ask them what's up.

    What mic do you have?

The one Crutchfield originally sent with my JVC head unit (JVC KD-X50BT) was completely worthless. Everyone complained on the other end of the conversation.

I called Crutchfield back and they sent me the Sony mic they have for free.

No more complaints everyone says it sounds fine. I have the mic mounted on my driver's side visor near the A-pillar.

Pretty sure this is the model microphone I have: http://www.amazon.com/Sony-XAMC10-E...External+Microphone+Sony+Bluetooth+Car+Stereo
