    Just got it!
I had one on my Subaru and it was one of the first things I purchased for the Tacoma. If you're worried about damage there are some skid plates that will protect the drain valve. As for leaking, I've not once had a drop come out of it in the 3+ years that it has been on my vehicles. You can buy a small retainer clip to put around it to make sure the lever doesnt get snagged on anything as well.

    Check out the build
I added one. It's been great so far.

In retrospect I would get the F-103S.

It's not specifically for a Prius, it's threaded to fit many vehicles. Read the Amazon reviews and there's a few Tacoma owners listed. If you're worried about damage and don't intend on using a tube, there's also the F-103 (doesn't have the nipple so it's lower profile) http://www.amazon.com/Fumoto-F-103-Engine-Drain-Valve/dp/B003UT6LCO/ref=pd_sbs_auto_1 I plan on getting one once my Toyota Care runs out.

Thanks for the clarification. I'd like one with the nipple. I may pick these up for the 2011 Taco, my wife's 2010 Prius, and my mom's 2011 Accord. This looks promising.

Make sure to check the sizing... Honda Accords are 14mm so you'll be an F-106 Fumoto. Most Toyotas are 12mm and use the F-103.

Couple decent sites to check what size you'll need for your vehicle:

I've used them on my trucks prior to this Tacoma. I changed the oil at 1100 miles and installed the short nipple version, and I prefer it over the full nipple valve.

These valves are very high quality and you will not have any leak issues. In total, I probably have around 120K miles using them, and have never, ever had one drop from leakage.

If you get one, don't use a big honkin' wrench to tighten. A small 6" crescent works great. They don't have to be super tight. They come with a very nice sealing crush washer. Good luck.

Thanks Zig and DE. These valves are really cool. Man, wish I saw these earlier. I'd be concerned about trail damage as well. However, I saw photos in another review with some guy that dinged up his oil pan on a rock after he came down right on the valve. The valve was fine, but his oil pan was toast.

I have one and love it!!

But I agree...if you're wheeling, you don't want one of these unless you have an engine skid plate (or some other armor to protect the oil pan).

I've always thought about getting one, but I'm more worried about the malicious A-hole who might notice the valve there and drain the oil out of my truck just for the heck of it...

I had one on my Ford which made draining 4 gallons of oil very easy. Also works great when you need to fill the small container and send it off to Blackstone. I will be getting one for my Tacoma. You can drain the oil right into the milk jug, turn it off when the jug gets full and get another!

Always take notice to puddles of oil under your truck.......

Get one because its convenient for you. By not buying one, you're letting the A-hole dictate your livelihood. :p

    Don't piss anyone off. LOL

You can back up the ball valve with a nylon zip tie which also will help stop malicious mischief. A Glock 23 also works well for that.

This is the one I have and I love it! I put an empty 5.5 quart laundry detergent bottle down there open the valve. No mess! :D

True, but there's a reason we lock our doors at night as well.

I've used Fumoto valves on my Toyotas since 2002. I've never had an issue with fit, accidents, etc. And I've wheeled, although not as hard as some guys here.

The only thing you may run into is the Honda's have a recessed area where the oil plug is. I had to send one back to Qwik Valve (Fumoto seller) because even with an adapter, the clearance was very tight and I couldn't close the valve fully.

I got one when i changed my oil last weekend.. It was super easy to install and it hasnt leaked any oil. I say go for it, i got the one with the nipple(i dont wheel super hard) and if someone wants to drain my oil well.. idk lol.

Any of you guys running these with skid plates? Just curious if they fit or not? I can't recall how much clearance I have at the moment and am not currently near my rig to check.

Yes, I am, albeit only factory skids, I'm thinking you have nice custom ones though.

Yep. Haha. 1/4" thick steel. I can practically bend the factory ones with my hands... so they were gone quickly.
