Nothing major at this time. Just wanted to start a place to document the progress. if any.

So I have never been very good at build threads. I always seem to not start at the right time or I forget to keep them updated. So, I have a new start and will try and keep this one updated. It will be a slow build as its a new vehicle with a warranty and the nicest vehicle I have ever owned. I plan on linking to any threads for mods i used and links to locations of any purchases. So here goes.

2014 Tacoma 4x4 4 door TRD Off Road Super White.

    Took ownership on September 28th

Tailgate security purchased from autozone. thread can be found here -> Taco Tailgate Theft Deterance and Tailgate theft....How to prevent it....

Dee Zee Bed mat from amazon Wasn't too happy to get it and find out it had to be cut to fit. I apparently missed that on Amazons site. If i had to do it again i would. Its cheaper than the Toyota one and works almost too well. Nothing seems to slid on this thing.

XPEL Clear Universal Door Sill Guard from amazon.
Really hard to see as its virtually clear.

On order a set of Relentless Fabrication bolt on sliders with kick out. No pics of that as it will be a while

custom grill with mesh from customcargrills.com

That's about it for now. More pics as things come along.

I wish i would have known about that clear door sill when i bought my truck. Going to have it touched up soon and probably will be getting that clear door sill stuff. Do you like the product and does it hold up well ?

Thanks. Cant say how well it holds. Haven't really "used" it yet. i suspect if i had a rock in my shoe or something and stepped directly onto the sill that it may damage it. but from normal getting in and out, i believe it will hold up very well.
one package of what i linked to will do one driver door and rear passenger door. I suspect it would do both front doors as well. I have a 4 door so i needed 2 packs. And i screwed up one so actually i needed 3 packs.

It is a bit of a pain to install. It comes with a very flimsy squeegee thing to work out the bubbles. don't use it. get a real applicator. like one for window tinting. To apply it, i cleaned the door sills with alcohol first. then sprayed the backs of the sill film and the door jam with soapy water from a spray bottle. This stuff sticks as soon as it touches anything. I then squeegeed the water and bubbles working from the center out.

So today i got painted my BAMF light bar mount. Only paint i had around was VHT brake caliper paint. Didn't realize it was gloss and very wet. Runs real easy. Oh well.

    BAMF-LightMount_Painted-05_d84978b2cdf9555fdf81e0746d44a6b5c2f4001d.jpg

Also relocated my horns today. This was super easy. Used the single bolt at the bottom of the center support bar, routed the wires through the same hole the transmission cooler lines run, and put the temp sensor in a hole just to the left of the support bolt. Both horns mounted up nicely here by flipping one backwards.

Swapped my grill for a color matched today and installed my BAMF light mount. No lights yet. Need to figure out how to make a Homeroshi grill first. Well, i may mount the lights first. Hopefully they will shine through the factory grill well enough.

And my switches came in from OTRATTW. Of course need the lights in first. Going to attempt to build a switch panel in my overhead console

here is the grill mounted up on the truck with my old Hella Blackmagic spots behind it. the spots are mounted there because the drivers side light wouldn't clear the trans cooler aimed the way i have it. they are pointed to that extreme because i need them aimed as far to the sides to light up tight turns. floods would be better for this purpose but i dont have them yet

i ordered the mesh in flat black but it came gloss. i didn't feel like messing with a return and waiting for it to get delivered. so i will paint it matte at some point.

with the gloss mesh something is reflecting off it in this pic. that isn't something showing through from behind. but i do need to paint the rad and the supports.

Do those require drilling the frame? I'm a little reluctant to do that since I'm still under warrantee.

Nope. Total bolt on. I think there is one place you may have to drill but I don't think it's required. There is a great write up on here on how to install them. Just have to find. Can't remember where it is. I think it's in The Relentless OffRoad vendor forum.

got some more work done today. installed a 30" light bar. this is a defective bar with 3 burned out LEDs so its only temporary. i wanted to get this put in before my next mountain trip to see how well it will do. my next one will be a single row mounted further out the lower grill.

making my drill holes. this 30" mounts perfect without the need for any additional parts. drilled and tapped the holes and bolted her in.
