First off I'm new here, I have a 2006 Toyota Tacoma regular cab 5 speed 4x4 with 40k on the clock, when I bought it the truck had a odd "universal cruise control" it is round and has a button on the end, the button activates the system and the round end can resume, coast, de-accel etc. I have tried several times to use the system tried being above 25 MPH, 55 MPH, 60 MPH, nothing... There is no paperwork on the system in the truck and have exhausted google search lol, I don't even know where to find the fuse or the actual system for this. And I will be the first to admit I'm used to throttle cables and that type of cruise control not electronic throttle bodies with wires and such, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you buying it from the dealer or private?

Dealer, it was a dodge dealer, I would put a $20 on it a older guy had it, it's from Colorado.

The super low miles, base model, still had it's steelies on it, super clogged cabin filter, older folks usually don't drive much, no knowledge of a cabin filter, and the cruise looks like something from JC Whitney.

Following this... I just bought a 1999 with an aftermarket cruise installed as well, and isn't working the way it should. It won't set the speed, but it will accelerate.

Go to a junkyard and pull the CC stalk off a wrecked Taco. They are plug and play on all 2nd gen models.
