I am a newbie to the board. I own. 2013 tacoma. It is equipped with the LCD 6.1 screen. No Entunes. I am sure this has been addressed a million times. When I Bluetooth my pandora pr personal music, I see NO album artwork. When I use the USB cable I do. I have called dealerships all over colorado and no one has a set answer for me. Does this system not have the capacity to stream album artwork via Bluetooth and am I stuck with a USB cable if I want artwork?

 

pretty sure the speed at which bluetooth operates wont allow the album artwork to come through

 

My wife just bought a 2013 Rav 4 with Entunes and she can stream music and pandora with no USB.

 

There is no defined method for sending album artwork over Bluetooth yet (not in AVRCP). Some systems will use an onboard database and do a lookup for it, or display some generic icon. That's what the Entune system does for Bluetooth album art. If you want album art, you need to use USB.

 

So why does my wifes car receive the streaming and my does not?

 

Because that system has the local database of album artwork. Yours is the base radio, so it doesn't. So, album art will work on hers, but not yours.

 

Ok thanks. Thats a bummer. Will Toyota swap out radios?
