I dont want to be lumped into the southwest. Vegas(which is a dump) maybe southwest, but I would rather part of the mountain states. We should cut the state in half anyway and let the south drown in their own misery.

That seems to be how it is anymore. Cali can just have Clark county, they are an embarrassment to the rest of the state. Washoe County should probably be cut from the herd too.

Having lived in both LA and Vegas, I can attest to them being in their own worlds as comapred to the rest of their states'. Was I supposed to vote for just the region I live in now, or all five of the areas I've lived? Crap, I just realized I missed one! I lived in TX too so should have picked 'Southern Midwest' too I suppose.

As a native Virginian, who's traveled the world and lived in Cali for a short time.... I'm very happy that the South East is holding out for highest population!!!

    Tell ya what.

If we can split California into "Coastal California" from LA to the bay area, we'll take Clark because that won't be enough to overpower the rest of East California.

wow. very nice. if i had to move to cali. that is the part it would have to be! but I’ll never move their.
 yeah.. fuck that. the traffic and everything els!! I think the widest part of I-40 in knoxville tn is like 3 or 4 lanes each side, so like 6 or 8 lane. and usually the far right lane is a exit or something. Most of the interstates here are 2 lanes each side.

I work 43 miles from home.

Morning commute, door to door, leaving home at 5am, is 45 minutes.
    Heading home?
    Minimum 90 minutes.
    Often 2 hours.

Holiday getaway Friday before a 3-day weekend? I'll often take surface streets home. Been a few times it's taken 3 hours to get home.

I40 in Albuquerque needs to be 10 lanes, retards can't drive and it gets backed up.

    Bone stock for now....
Just attempted to "refind" my data and actually came across one website that showed California first in total recruitment with Texas in second. Really not in the mood to get into a circular discussion resulting in a never ending thread of opposing statistical references.

I am not a native a Texan and would speculate that a native Texan would most likely not bother to even question the OP's poll choices.

I have resided and worked in the following states:

Maine, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Florida, Alabama, Texas.

While on Active Duty or TDY, I have resided in these states:

    New Jersey, North Carolina, Indianapolis,

In comparison to my experience living and working in other states, Texas is far and away the best place to be.

My most recent employment has taken me to Cali approximately 20 times split up between LA and the Bay Area. I honestly like many aspects of California, but I would bet good money more companies have left there to come here (Texas) than vice versa. "We should really move our corporate headquarters to LA" is not an expression you hear every day in Texas.

The "my state is better than your state" argument is a very difficult discussion and a great way to troll a forum. I apologize if I hurt anyone's feelings regarding their love of state, but was merely reacting to what seemed to me as an obvious oversight of poll options, just based on size and population alone.

I'm not looking for a medal here, or even a chest to pin it on, just thought it was worth mentioning that when I post an opinion out here, I try my best for it to have some basis in first hand experience.

For you Texas haters, no offense but if for some reason you have never resided in the state of Texas and yet have managed to somehow come to hate it, well, you probably see where I'm going....

Having lived there, I came to like parts of it, and not other parts. The constant barrage of "EHRMAGEHRD TEHRXAS!!!!" that I hear from overly patriotic Texans is what I have come to dislike about the place.

I've never viewed Colorado as the "southwest" but TW and "geographers" seem to disagree so there it is.
