I think Mr. Ramsey offers some solid advice for those who could & would use it so, it could be money well spent.

That being said, while board at work last night, I did some research on Dave and have to say I was a little surprised by his home.

Since he's a no debt kinda dude he must have a serious income.

    ON EDIT:

Okay my paste of the link(s) are being a pain in the ass. If you're interested, just do a google image search for "Dave Ramsey Home".

Joe, obviously he has a serious income.... but he is teaching people how to live comfortably during retirement.

I completely agree you should be putting down 10-20 percent and aim for a 15 year.

Get the book if you MUST get something.
You can get any old envelopes and find free budget resources online, and even the concepts he uses are out there - but the book gives a solid to-do list/ method.

Which book though? The total money makeover, financial peace revisited, or another book? Just dont know which one to start with. A lady at my work gave me $20 to get one of his books. She is a really nice older lady and wants to help us out. What about his personal finance software cd?

    Hey OP
Don't purchase anything yet. Let me see what I still have because we have been through the Finacial peace classes. Might still have some books and DVDs in my storage (guest room). Just send me a PM

I"m not sure what the guy above may or may not be sending you. I would suggest getting the "My Total Money Makeover" book first. I think its pretty much the foundation of everything he teaches.

I dont know what you do at work, but at my work I have access to a radio or headphones nearly all day. I would suggest either listening to his daily radio show when its being aired (on a local talk radio channel), but the easiest is to get the "I Heart Radio" app and listen to his station on there. It's the same as his daily radio show but without all the commercials. His show is awesome! Normal people call into his show and ask him questions on what he would do if he was in their shoes. There isn't a single day when I regret listening to his stuff.

I have PMed him a couple of times but haven't received a response. The first time with my email address and the second time asking if he was still interested.
