Thanks, I wish it would have picked up the sound when I let off the throttle but the blow off isn't that loud.

So I got a question to ask that I been waiting for someone like you to ask it to. How does it do dealing with the offroad elements? Example: I sludge through mud all the time, do water crossing, throw sand everywhere ...... Stuff like that and I'd be worried about shit getting in the SC. Have you gone through anything yet that would test this? My whole engine bay is brown and it only gets worse every time out. Seems like it would be easy to destroy something

I had the same questions with running a snorkel, no fender skirts etc. So I have been keeping an eye on things. I haven't had any issues in blasting puddles or crossing creeks. Checking the air box after a couple of wet heavy snows driving long distances (70 miles) the air box and filter were moist but dry on the intake side. I plan to go back to a pre filter I broke my old one and want to switch to the 10" pre-filter for the S/C. I'm pretty comfortable in the aspect of the air-box and S/C but carry a spare filter if in case it is questionable. Engine compartment wise I haven't had any concerns my engine is usually dirty from no wheel skirts. I'm of the opinion that you can run these in harsh conditions as long all the parts that support the S/C are functioning as they should and I keep things within reason, the idea being that shit that is bad for a motor is catastrophic with a supercharged motor...

I can't imagine the supercharger being any worse than just the engine itself. Sure, more connections to come loose and allow something into the engine but ideally it should be fully sealed.

Yeah I would think it would be fine because I know it's sealed but exactly what I was thinkin about was increasing odds of smaller things being magnified because of the charger. Just for instance how the SC, intercooler, BOV, and other components would react to being caked in mud constantly or submerged in water or breathin dirt for a few days straight. I'm pretty much questioning the reliability of it in all the same conditions as the motor has proven itself to hold up in

Given that we spend almost half the year in winter conditions around here, I'm interested in how well the supercharger has worked in winter conditions.

I've had no issues with it, I always make sure to give it plenty of time to warm up. The truck has a oil pan heater and block heater and keep it plugged in when the temps get low to help with warm up as well.

So nOrth - It's been around a year with your URD supercharger. Give us the overall scam. How has the dependability been? What's the effect been on your mileage? How happy are you overall? Would you recommend?

I'm torn between doing this or buying a V-6.

I would recommend it, I haven't had any issues with it. My mileage has gone down but I think part of it is how fun the truck is with the S/C maybe a little to much skinny pedal.
