I can do without most, but I'm surprised it took 60 posts to come up with this... even my 23 yo 4runner had this.

I know that 1st gen Tacomas can easily use the lit rings out of a 3rd gen 4Runner, and the ignition looks to be the same between the 4th Gen 4Runners/2nd Gen Tacomas. I tried to find a part number for it and looked in diagrams on Toyota part sites but no dice.

I bet if someone dropped by the junkyard and pulled one out of a 4th Gen 4Runner, they'd find it fit the 2nd gen Tacoma. There is a small gap between the plastic trim and ignition ring in the Tacoma, and I am guessing it would fit right in perfectly.

EDIT: now that I think about it I believe the 2nd gen Tacoma ignition/steering column trim is most similar to that of 5th gen 4Runners.

wish it has a power rear sliding window like BenWa's and wish it had a bed light. Otherwise I'm pretty happy with how they come.

It definitely gives the end user more customization in modifying their vehicle which I appreciate.

After I posted my original list I realized I was far too brief because it occurred to me that I left MANY things off my "wish" list. I know, it was to be just one thing but I over did it. We'll blame my OCD and always wired personality.

But after reading the thread and being awestruck by the wisdom imbued upon us, I've had a change of heart.

I say fuck it. Let's get rid of our vehicles and go back to butt flaps and a bow & arrow while were at it lets just cede the US and give it to whoever wants it... Obviously anyone who may have given their stamp of approval by purchasing the truck and even entertains the thought of adding, deleting or changing anything and having the nerve to post it on a "WISH LIST" must be a whiny ass bitch.

No, maybe that's a bad plan???

BEFORE I GET HATE PMs, the above was a joke. I say to each his own. And how the hell can something a simple as this thread be controversial????

In addition to my "wish list" I'd also like rear disk brakes, larger fuel tank, lighted switches, better quality interior materials, lights everywhere inside, and power seats with adjustable thigh support. Of course with all those lights I'd also like the ability to kill every light and go completely dark.

And a Vayron 16.4 on a trailer behind it.

OK, I feel a little better that I'm not the only one that noticed this.

When I look at the list of everything possible, I'm sure it comes on a Lexus of some kind...

No $h!t! Toyota acts like I'm driving a mini-van with a bunch a kids riding with me! Truck seats 5 people at best but has 27 cup holders.

    YES!

I have a list, most of which can be accomplished with time and effort, but the lever operated transfer case is damn near impossible. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, if toyota made the next generation Tacoma based on the FJ cruiser I'd jump on it in a heartbeat.
