iPad mini install! Teaser pics inside!!

Just wanted to post up a few teaser pics of my iPad mini install to get your taste buds watering I am able to use the radio, which displays on the iPad screen, use Netflix, iTunes radio, Spotify, watch YouTube, use Navigation....everything.

This is to show that it is plugged in and charging if you notice the upper right corner.

How it looks with the iPad off. I designed the dash piece to hide the home button so you can't immediately tell it's an iPad.

How are you supposed to push the home button?

 

It's that white dot on the far right bottom of the screen

You don't need the home button, to back out of an app you just 4-finger pinch and it takes you back to the home screen just like the home button does. And yes the little white dot on the bottom right is a touch assist feature that gives you access basically a touch-screen home button if you really need it. I'm gonna make a video to show just how this all works

 

I am considering making a few of these to sell....the dash parts run about $100 for all the parts, then there's the time..so if the price is right I may be willing

The iPad will go to sleep won't it? Can you set it to not go to sleep unless it's plugged in / charging?

You can set it to never sleep in the settings so while you're driving around it will stay on. It wakes up whenever I turn my key on just like your normal radio does. And when I turn the truck off I just use that white dot on the bottom right and it has a screen lock option which turns it off. So I never need access to the home button OR the power button.

 

I cant really tell but is there any way to get it out... or do you have to take off the dash kit?

 

There is actually a Sony head unit mounted behind the iPad and it plugs in via the lightning USB, so it's not over bluetooth so you don't lose sound quality
