The stock air filter is actually not very restrictive. The design and placement of the intake is what makes a difference. The stock intake has many baffles inside. This quiets the noise, but also restricts air flow.

Sucking in cool air and maximizing airflow is what you want in an air intake.

I have a Airaid intake for the 07 tocoma 4 sale, it is complete. used it for about 350 miles. put it on my truck at around 2250 miles. removed it around2520 - 2230 miles. their is nothing wrong with it. just could not pass up the toy one, IT WAS FREE

the wife bought me the 07 tocoma 4+4 for my b/day.

When the wife saw the new intake she asked if toyota had one. So the wife bought the TRD intake and exhaust system. The TRD intake was $100 more than the airaid intake. to me they do not seem any different. a little louder with the exhaust. but the performance is pretty much the same.

Great... I was considering putting in an K&N filter to reduce the noise.

I have the 4cyl and I can hear air sucking into that thing over the exhaust. It's annoying to me.
