I am going to try to put the trailer hitch behind seat just in case but i was thinking about putting a shackle receiver in. Not sure of technical name. Was wondering if you can change the shackle size if they look too small. Can you change shackles? If so, how? Talking about somethimg like this: see above. Im on my wifes tablet and i couldnt get it to paste link at bottom

    Pretty much stock with some crap welded to it.
    I loved my shackle receiver, you can just unscrew the pin and put on another one but I had a similar one to the one ur looking at it looked awesome! Very useful as well..

    I'd go for it. Tractor supply carries that and just a hook if you're interested. You could also go for a clean look with just a Toyota plug back there.

    I think you're talking about a hitch shackle. I'd prefer that over a ball mount. Unscrew the pin at the top and it can be changed.

    So you are saying i can just buy the shackle or d ring ang put it on the actual trailer hitch?

    Loud as hell URD exhaust!
    The hitch shackle is cool but I just roll with the Toyota rubber plug and use my hitch pin with my tow rope for pulling stuff out.

    I run the big hook in mine I pretty much leave it in until I need to use my trailer. I've used it a few times.

    I recommend leaving a hitch. It protected my last truck from getting damaged when I.got rear ended

    I am concerned that someone will steal anything left in the hitch so I just run it empty and keep the attachments in the truck.

    I use a locking pin...and so far, so good. At one time I had a "Moose" receiver plug that snapped in ... it got stolen ... on base in the BX parking lot. :mad:

    I bought a cheap hitch pin I keep the good one and my drop hitch it the cab. I figured if someone steals the hook and pin it i'm out 30 bucks not that big a deal for me.

    Do you have a pic of it on your truck? The link worked but it looks like a small shackle. I like how it fold down when its in the hitch. I've seen some that fold from side to side if that makes sense.
