HELP! How can I tell if a 2006 Tacoma is the Off Road version

    So I'm thinking about buying a 2006 tacoma with the off road package.

    How can I tell if it is indeed the off road package or not.

    I'm thinking it might have the suspension tsb done and a fake Locking Rear button. What else should I look for, the vin search is inconclusive. Is it easy to tell if the locker is engaged on the street?

    Does the 06 have a temp gauge and compass? In the mirror? I don't think I saw one...? Any other tell tell signs, the seats seam like better that what I have seen on other tacomas. Everything seems to be in place I'm just a little cautious. dont want to be taken by a sales guy.

    Well for the major first thing check for the sticker thatt says TRD offroad, then just try the locker out and see if you hear the click. That would be a good way to check if it is a fake button or not lol:)

    nuttin fancy
    Crawl under the rig near the rear axle. Look for something that looks like this. That will be the e-Locker actuator. That tells you that you have the rear locker.
