The same shit everyone else has.
Im in the process of DIY'ing a Satoshi grille for my Tacoma and was wondering which style everyone preferred andy why?

    - flush mount Satoshi - similar to the Grille Craft stuff
    - shallow depth Satoshi - roughly 1"
    - mid depth Satosho - roughly 1"-2"
    - deep/normal depth Satoshi - roughly 2"

Personally, I'm leaning towards doing a shallow depth grille.

Literally in the same boat, been working on mine for a few days. I am over making the little plastic pieces to fill the holes on the side so getting a fiberglass kit tomorrow. I have a 2011 but my donor grill is a 2010. I am probably going with the deep one but considered flush to fit a led light bar behind it easier.

Mines at the point of either I trim the lip down all around to make it shallow, or plastic weld / body work the side holes shut to make it deep.

I've done two satoshi grilles myself. IMO the deep dish style looks really sharp on our trucks. it is more unique than a lot of the tacos you see with the "bro" billet flush mount chrome grilles.
However I don't know if the thin lip grilles are easier to fabricate? Maybe less surface to sand, bondo, and fiberglass. That would be my guess. I'm happy with mine though and don't plan on changing for the time being.

I like fully recessed and currently am running one but thin lip is easier to do than fully recessed

Deep, it reminds me of the Ivan Stewart TRD grilles on the Tundras. I did mine deep, and got a similar design for the perforated metal to give it the I.S. look.

Shallow. I did this because it meant zero body work and it was done and back on the truck in less than 3 hours with HomerTaco's pre-cut mesh. :D And that included the triangles.

I'm doing mine this weekend hopefully if the mesh shows up on Saturday as planned. I'm goin deep. I see too many guys driving around Pittsburgh with the flush chrome "bro" grill from Autoanything and it just turns me away. My own opinion. Are you putting letters on it? Maybe ill see you around Pittsburgh one day haha
