2g pw window thump noise

    Just curious if anyone had this issue. My 05 front driver power window just started making a thumping sound going down. Its always around the same area. I'm gonna pull the panel off to see if it's binding somewhere.

    Check your regulator mounting bolts to the door and the window. We have had a few come loose. If they are loose and elongated check the regulator arms for being bent....

    thanks, the hinge that looks like its glued to the glass snapped. Cant seem to find the part separated from the glass. Do they sell this separately?

    No....
    It comes on the window.
    However, that does not mean a glass company may have a repair kit or something. At times in my career there were repair kits for glass from different manufacturers but myself have not seen them offered to us...

    i went to the local auto glass repair shop, took a quick peek, and said no problem. Swapped out the hinge for $40.00

    All set now :)

    That's mint.
    Good for you... I never liked having to replace the whole glass for something so minor. We could get factory replacements for the rear windows in 4runners but never for the trucks.

    I hope you still checked the regulator arms to see if they were bent.
    I've seen this as a result of side pressure on the attatchment plate.

    Arms seem square.... A little lube on the reg channels and you should be good
