When I purchased my Tacoma a couple of months ago I was taken back by how weak the grill protection was. With the help of TW I knew a Grillcraft grill would take care of that. I also wanted lower front end protection for snow buried stumps, brush and blowing through deep snow and noticed many people had purchased the Avid light bar, but never put lights on it. And it did look like one of the best options for lower protection available but I found it slightly lacking if you wanted to use it as a brush\stump guard.

I went back and forth with Brandon several times on building something along the lines of the light bar but with more protection. He came up with perforated steel and a lower panel with a cross support member also filled in with perf steel. I agreed and received it late last week then had it powder coated this week with a sand textured matte black finish. Mounted it today in the rain, along with mounting the Avid RBG. I am more than pleased- he did a great job.

Crappy pictures in low light conditions but with the weather this time of year this is the best I could do. Will update with better pictures when I can. Very impressed with both the functionality and form that Brandon came up with.

That's pretty much what I've been looking for. Protection that doesn't look like it. This is a modified Avid?

    Yes it is.

Thank you good sir! Actually I owe you a beer, or 3. I found a picture of yours when I was researching the design and yours was my inspiration for this one. Thank you!
