    Hello,

I'm a newbie here and tried some searching but there is so much darn information and acronyms, I have no idea what I need.

    2000 Prerunner with 145k miles

My mechanic instructed me to replace my shock so I went ahead with the bilstein 5100 setup from DownSouth Motorsports and they feel great!

I also replaced the steering rack bushings with Wheelers Offroad kit as well.

However, the truck still doesn't feel quite right. There is still some vibration on the freeway and some body roll; and think I need to change the following:

    Outer Tie Rods
    Lower and Upper CA bushings
sway bar bushings (i'm not sure of the Prerunner sway bar diameter)
    Upper and Lower ball joints

I attached a screenshot of the parts I think I need to purchase for my mechanic.. are these the right part #s for my truck? Appreciate any help I could get...

    cheers!

No alignment since the steering rack bushings and 5100s installed... I figured I wait and do that after tie-rod installation.

Or should I do that now?

is my parts list accurate? I would like to buy this stuff and get my truck feeling brand new again :)

Not having an alignment after those 2 are probably why you feel a vibration. Right now you are just guessing on the rest and throwing money at somethong that might not solve your current problem.

Get the alignment. That is probably the problem to begin with...

got it... I'll go and get it done then.

but what about the other parts? if they are original at 145k... shouldn't it be changed?

Change them when they are worn out. If the parts are still in good condition and are solid, save your money. With your logic almost every part should be changed out on an older truck.

Vibrations suck. Did it come after you installed the lift and bushing kit? The new steering rack bushing kit is a stiffer component to the stock one which will make you feel more vibrations thru the steering wheel than you would have with the previous rubber bushing. Yes it gives a firmer/tighter steering response, but its at the expense of not dampening as effectively.

I doubt the vibration would be coming from things like your sway bar links and ball joints. Symptoms of these parts going are more related to clunks you get going over bumps or turning sharply. Not saying that it can't cause vibrations.. but just replace one culprit at a time instead of throwing money at it.. although it does suck to have to pay for a 2nd alignment after just getting one for a previous job :) Replacing your front coil springs might help reduce body roll if your current ones are showing signs of wear.

Get them to balance your wheels too. It's cheap and eliminates that.
