About 2 months ago I needed to replace the LCA bushings and ball joints on my 06' reg cab. I ended up going with an entire moog LCA from oreillys. Installation was smooth with no issues.

So the real issue was realized about a month ago I noticed a popping noise coming from the front end. Turns our my left side outter CV axle boot clamp was missing so I temporarily packed it full of grease and threw a big zip tie around it. I've tried a few different style of clamps with no luck.

Make a long story short. It seems as if my clearance between LCA and CV boot/ clamp is tiny.

Has anyone ever experienced anything like this, or have insight as to where to go from here.

You can see where the factory clamp on the drivers side has rubbed a mark on the LCA.

    Another pic showing the clearance.

Without any more than these photos, I don't see an issue with clearance from here. Looks to be fine. Have you compared it to the other side?

Both sides the same. Compared it to a stock 4x4 truck and he had about another inch of clearance. Will/should the axle move independently from the LCA?

I'm gonna go ahead and bump this back up. I've begun having issues with both sides now. Both outside axle boots are busted.

    Suspension setup is as follows.
    5100's
    885's
    1 1/4in wheel spacers
    Factory UCA's
Aftermarket OEM replacement LCA's from orielys.

So far I've tried even grinding down the LCA's just a hair to see if that had any effect. Nothing. Tried 15+ different clamp combos. Nothing.

    Kind of stuck on this.

By looking at the pics, except CV angles being a bit harsh, it looks fine.

Not trying to be sarcastic, but it's always good to stick with OEM LCA's instead.

Mine used to touch at full droop to but those photos were taken on flat pavement. Yeah I'm regretting my LCA choice. Finding a set of used stocks was difficult at the time. Thinking about maybe trying an TC LCA. But really don't wanna drop the coin on them of the could possibly another fix.

Out of curiosity would an aftermarket UCA like the light racing of TC's have any effect on geometry? I know second don't really respond well at all to diff drops. So what are my option?
